GAWAD KALINGA ISANG MILYONG BAGONG BAYANI!
GK stands for Gawad Kalinga, which in turn means #8220;to offer care.#8221; Gawad Kalinga is a community development movement aimed at creating bite-sized communities (50 #8211; 100 families) among the poorest of the poor and rebuilding lives, homes and community living. It begins with a team of caretakers who commit the next three to five years of their lives to a mission of caring and sharing for marginalized brother and sister Filipinos. It ends when the same marginalized brother and sister Filipinos find their empowerment, stand on their own two feet, and prepare to help others who were like them.

Gawad Kalinga is a movement born from the determination of Filipinos not to give up on their country, not to give up on their faith.

Initiated by the quiet and private efforts of the Couples For Christ community, Gawad Kalinga has blossomed into an all-embracing, aggressive community transforming program. It is good news, the best news for a wounded and broken society mired in corruption and poverty. The Gawad Kalinga movement has gained multi-sectoral partners who aggressively help caretaker teams in rebuilding communities by providing
